How to cook your pasta

IT'S REALLY EASY TO PREPARE A QUICK AND TASTY PASTA MEAL. THE SECRET IS TO COOK YOUR PASTA RIGHT.

How you cook your pasta affects both their taste and their nutrients. If overcooked, pasta releases its sugars quicker, which also raises its glycaemic index. Moreover, if we wash the pasta with cold water after cooking, it loses the starch from its surface and the sauce won't cling.

Follow these simple steps to prepare perfectly cooked pasta, every time.

Use a large pot and plenty of water

QUANTITIES

For every 100 g of pasta
use 1 lt of water

For every liter of water
add 10 g salt

When the water comes to a rolling boil, throw in the pasta. Stir regularly so that they don't stick together.

Start timing the cooking from the moment you drop the pasta in the water. Taste two minutes before the indicated time, because they might be cooked sooner.

Oil the pasta lightly (3 tbs per 500 g) and serve with the sauce on top or save them for later.

Strain the pasta in a colander. Don't rinse them with cold water unless indicated by the recipe. Mix the drained pasta with the sauce immediately.

Bon apetit!
